Here’s how you can get verified to vote in the BC Conservative leadership race.

How To

Step-By-Step Instructions

Check email for verification link 

  • Emails will have been sent on April 28, 2026. 

  • The email will come from: Conservative Voter Verification at helpdesk@conservativebc.ca 

  • The email will contain a personal verification link. 

  • **If you used the same email address as your family members,a separate email and link will be sent to that address for each person. You must use the link in the email addressed to you.. 

Open the verification page 

  • Click on “begin verifying”

  • Click continue

  • For Members OVER 18: 

    • Click Government Issued ID (Recommended)

    • Upload Photo ID: Choose the option for which type of photo ID you will be uploading. 

      • Options: Driver License, BC Identity Card, Passport, Citizenship Certificate, NEXUS Card, etc.  

    • Take a photo of photo ID with device camera. 

      • Allow inquiry.withpersona.com access to your camera.

      • Make sure the lighting is good and the lettering on your ID is clear.

    • For Additional Document upload (only if photo ID does not contain an address)

      • The document must contain your name and address (see list of accepted and not accepted documents above)

      • Take photo of your additional document or upload it from files on your device then click submit.

  • Allow persona to open your camera and position your face in the middle of the circle. 

  • Follow prompts to look slightly left and slightly right 

  • Make sure the room is well-lit and remove glasses if prompted. 

  • Persona will automatically begin verifying once prompts have been followed. 

For Eligible Members under 18 years of age

  • If you are under 18,  follow the same verification process as above but will check “I am under the age of 18” on the page choosing your identification method. 

  • Eligible members under 18 are still required to submit some form of government-issued identification. However, you may rely on your parent or guardian’s identification for the purpose of providing a residential address as long as you reside at the same address. 

  • If you are under 18, you will be asked to provide an email address for your parent or guardian to consent to the collection of your personal data. 

  • If the consent is not received by the verification deadline on May 20, 2026, your verification will not be complete and you will not be eligible to vote. 

Once Verification is Complete

  • If all requirements are met, you will automatically be marked as verified and will receive an email confirming your verification is complete. 

Adjudication Process

  • Your identification will not be rejected without review by the returning officer.

Government-issued photo ID - ID must confirm full name, photo and current address. This can be done using a single document such as a driver’s license. Or can be used using two documents together (eg/ a canadian Passport for name and photo plus a bill for address).
